Dr. Campeau has internationally-recognized surgical expertise and advanced training in a variety of approaches to treat urinary incontinence, pelvic floor disorders, benign prostatic hyperplasia, neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction, and other conditions.

Dr. Campeau offers a range of surgical treatment options for:

  • anatomic endoscopic enucleation of the prostate with laser holmium or thulium (HoLEP/ThuLEP)
  • greenlight photovapourization of the prostate
  • bipolar transurethral resection of the prostate

Dr. Campeau is a Staff Urologist at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. As a Professor in the Department of Surgery (Division of Urology) at Montreal's McGill University, she has trained numerous residents and clinical fellows from around the world.

With over 20 years of active research, Dr. Campeau is proud to lead her research team in pursuing innovative research to improve urological health with real impact on patient care.

Credentials

Training

Dr. Campeau completed medical school and her urology residency training at McGill University in Montreal.

She holds a PhD in Physiology and Pharmacology from Wake Forest University in North Carolina and completed an accredited fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) at New York University.

Dr. Campeau is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and certified by the American Board of Urology, with a subspecialty in Urogynecology.

Certifications

Dr. Campeau is licensed by the Collège des Médecins du Québec. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (Urology) and certified in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery by the American Board of Urology.

Awards & recognition

Career awards

In 2023, Dr. Campeau received the Kathryn Rolph Award in recognition of outstanding achievements and leadership in contributing to the advancement of the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.  

In 2019, she was presented with the Young Urologist of the Year Award by the American Urological Association – Young Urologists Committee.

Research awards

Dr. Campeau was awarded funding through the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé for three consecutive research cycles: Clinical Research Scholar Junior 1 (2014-2019), Junior 2 (2019-2025), and Senior (2025-2029). These highly competitive, peer-reviewed awards are presented to clinical researchers pursuing independent careers in human health research.  
She also received the American Urological Association Urology Care Foundation's Rising Star in Urology Award for three years between 2015 and 2018. 
‍Dr. Campeau received research operating grants from the Canadian Urological Association Scholarship Foundation's Career Development Award for five consecutive years (2018-2023).  

Research and publications

Research

Dr. Campeau has authored over 80 peer-reviewed articles, co-authored 6 clinical guidelines and best practice reports and 11 textbook chapters, presented at international conferences, and served on the editorial board for numerous research journals. She recently co-edited the medical textbook “The AMS800 Artificial Urinary Sphincter.”

Dr. Campeau is a principal investigator at Montreal’s Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, where she leads a laboratory team for translational research. Over the last 13 years, she has supervised more than 20 research trainees.

Scientific contributions

‍Her research contributions and scientific outreach are recognized internationally, as evidenced by 80+ invitations to serve as a guest speaker.
